By now, most of us have seen the miraculous potential of CBD to stop seizures in certain individuals. Strains such as Charlotte’s Web have proven life-changing in their capacity to cease the debilitating realities faced by those with seizure disorders and their families—grabbing headlines and pushing conversations forward in ways never before imagined. In the shadows of these stories of true transformation, however, the everyday wellness properties of CBD sit under-realized. Here’s what you should know about CBD.
CBD, or cannabidiol, is a non-psychoactive member of cannabinoid family. Emerging studies suggest a healthy individual can consume between 10 and 30 mg on a daily basis. Here, research has indicated success as an anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective agent, aiding with digestion, and alleviating the side effects of chemotherapy. While celebrated for it’s non psychoactive nature, is also believed to work in an antipsychotic manner—reducing anxiety, rather than simply not increasing it. Research continues to study the interaction of the cannabinoid with the treatment of the following (and many more) conditions:
- ADHD
- Diabetes
- PTSD
- Osteoporosis
- Alzheimer’s
- Skin conditions
- Multiple Sclerosis
Literally, the list goes on and on.
